Jasmine and Rajah

Okay, this is my first critique ever on deviant, so here I go....

First off...
what I like....

I love her clothes design and the pose she is in. Your originality plays the part here, where when I usually see fanwork, it's the typical pose and etc.. although I do not give you 5 stars because it does not excel beyond the limit. You keep it nice and simple with the colors, but you could have pushed this farther. Hence, comes the "improvement" part...
I think you could add a few more shadows, and that is a bit of an issue. I see Jasmine casting a shadow with the bench and Rajah, but the shadows are not right. The shadow by Jasmine for example is cast out behind her, but yet, I see a shadow come forward from the bottom of her dress: the bit that looks like it is underneath and caught on the bench. And if the light is supposed to be coming behind her, then her shadow would be on the left and not towards the back. Also the lamp seems a bit plain and Rajah's face is a bit odd. His nose is frontal, but the angle of his face, well, it is tilted back and to the side a bit. Jasmine's hair is a bit odd at the bottom part where it bounces back up into the curl... Unless if she has really bouncy thick hair, it would probably not come back up like that. Although, this is a cartoon, so if that is your intention, then that's fine with me. It's just a minor detail anyways.
